you could start by getting internet explorer (etc) to save the pages to
disk.. it will do that if you elect to turn off the "Do not save encrypted
pages to disk" otion in tools.. options.. advanced

https connects to 443 port by default.. i suggest you look for some web
connected api that can handle https and write a custom browser
