There was also some discussion on the macpython list:
 there are some other problems with dynload_next.

We probably ought to rerwite it for OSX, stripping out
all of the conditionals from various ancient NextStep
versions.

Another alternative that was suggested is to get the dlcompat
package that emulates libdl and use dynload_dl instead.

I haven't tried this with Python but I've used that package
for other ports like XlispStat. I don't know whether it
provides better error messages than dynload_next.
