One of my clients is (commercially) distributing an app packaged with
4a4 that uses urllib, so I know it can work.

Intermittent errors makes me wonder if threading is involved somehow?

But I can't even tell what verions of Installer you're using.

BTW, you'll get much faster response from me if you join the
