what's up with 'patterns'?

You should definetively look into it, but only if you have allready 
written some applications with objects.

The leap from functional to patterns is probably to big. But if you have 
done some apps with objects it might be a valuable experience rewriting 
one, or part of it with the "Programming Patterns" book in one hand.
