mail-problem over t-online

ZRZ is simply not allowing sending messages using SMTP from networks 
outside the university network. As long as you connect directly 
university everything is fine. As soon as you move to t-online, zrz 
won't allow sending.

A work around could be to open a ssh tunnel (ssh -L option) and to 
connect through this tunnel in case you have a valid account on a 
university machine. This is what I'm doing.
