Numeric module won't load on Debian Woody

Hello-

	Numeric Python o Woody does not work, even though I did apt-get install
python-numeric without any problem.Theoretically, it's installed.

	Has anyone experienced problems with the Numeric module on Debian Woody?
	What should I check? 
	Is there a workaround?

	I have Python2.2 installed woth no problem.
