Zope Install probs on Mandrake 8.2

I'm trying to install Zope from source on a fresh install of Mandrake 8.2.
I'd appreciate it if anyone here has advice for this.


"python wo_pcgi.py" fails building the extension modules saying "cannot stat
`/usr/lib/python2.2/config/Makefile.pre.in': No such file or directory.

This is indead true.

Is there something a beginner should do at this point?

Zope claims to run on python 2.1 will it run on 2.2???
