Well, usually you don't, but I've found I *had* to escape a \ when it's 
at the end of the commandline. ISTR that escaping all backslashes 
didn't hurt, so that would make it a safer option. Presumably, even MS 
wouldn't treat some \<letter> combination as an escape sequence in a 
commandline, but there may be other strange combinations.
