A pure Python solution that works like expect ????

I am looking for a pure python solution that works like expect.
I was looking at the Python FAQ and found a reference to PIPE by John
Croix. The link that it gives is no longer valid.
Does anyone know how to get a hold of this or something that will work
the same way?
I need to connect to a SSH session. Is there an alternative that I am
overlooking?
