Hi kk,

you should really read the tutorial http://www.python.org/doc/current/tut/tut.html , that is the way I learned Python. Trying out of the things in the prompt and getting a feeling for the syntax and how to write programs in Python. Otherwise you could also try to look at http://www.python.org/doc/Newbies.html .
