Yup.  That's a more solid base than other, even
more momentous, engineering decisions have had.

OK, it's not just the firewall chicanery; it's
also because IBM and Microsoft (and Intel, inci-
dentally) agree WS is a Good Thing.  Why not
CORBA?  Prob'ly because they simply don't want
to support something managers associate with
Unix.
