Thanks for your reply, Peter.
My area is hydrology, so the maximum range of sampling period
is about several decades.
For instance, the period from 1930 to now.
In addition, not only year/month/day but also hour/min/sec should
be specified. So, integer is not enough,
Real number expression is required.
As I mentioned at the first email,
the datenum() function in MATLAB is exactly what I need in Python.
