Why bother writing a PEP?  Modify the parser yourself and suit the
language to your taste, it's open source after all.

You see, your idea isn't original at all, that is why my reply is so
depressed :) ... this has been discussed already quite a few times
(you'd know that if you did a search in groups.google.com), and the
general consensus is against such syntactic sugar, as you correctly
yourself characterised it.
