Adding PC Filename Extensions to Macintosh Filenames

I must correct myself. Metainformation of file type on Mac
is not in resource fork but in some small addition which
usually appears at the beginning of file on foreign filesystems.

Of course, FTP could drop it, but then again if Mac users
were able to use FTP - this info must be present somewhere!
Usually one cannot just download file ABC to Mac and use it:
one must set it's type and creator, two four letter strings.

(Disclaimer: I used 10 year old Macs 4 years ago, so probably it all changed)

Sincerely yours, Roman Suzi
