text and canvas are indeed remarkable.
An interesting experiment to rejuvenate Tk is underway <URL:

volved has explicitly mentioned the intent to help with
Tkinter, Perl/Tk, ... at the same time. If you'd like Tk or
Tkinter to be better than they are now, this is a great op-
portunity to volunteer to good effect.
