should i switch to IPYTHON interpreter? What is the killer feature of it?

Put this in ~/.pythonrc, and setup the PYTHONSTARTUP environment variable to
point to it: export PYTHONSTARTUP=~/.pythonrc


# ~/.pythonrc
# enable syntax completion
try:
    import readline
except ImportError:
    print "Module readline not available."
else:
    import rlcompleter
    readline.parse_and_bind("tab: complete")
