OT - Python with CVS or SourceSafe

i've never developed on windows, and hence never used VSS.  it has a bad
reputation, though.  see

i recently switched to subversion (subversion.tigris.org) they appear to
have windows installers for it at
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=91

...i've had no problems with it so far, and it's nice not to be able to
rename directories...
