Anygui problem

I have downloaded and installed Anygui.
I have a problem when trying to run the example program in the tutorial.
The output window flickers like it is stuck in a loop and finally stops with
the hour glass symbol showing.  If I click in the window the title bar says
(not responding).  Is this a problem with Windows XP or a Anygui problem.  I
have taken just the part of the sample program and just created a window and
ran the program with the same results.
