why not extending the syntax for classes, too ?

right, but we are not renaming something in a proposal (which 
doesn't exist, right) but are talking about possible ways
to spell specifications/modifications to class and/or function
objects aka 'def fun() is statismethod' etc.pp.

Or what am i not getting?
