Using SWIG to build Python extensions -- help!

I've only seen statically linked extension modules created by a
"wrapper-generator" in Boost.Python
(http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/boost/boost/l
ibs/python/test/embedding.cpp).
