How to change colors of console window?

Sorry, I've got NT4, and I wasn't thinking much beyond
my nose, I'm afraid ;-/

I'm not going to load up w98 to chase it, but I'm sure
someone will have the scoop ;-)

w98 console is annoying in other ways too, IIRC. I.e., you
have to load doskey to get line recall, and then that doesn't
get inherited when you run python in the console interactively?
