Seeking Ultralight p2p app

I've lost track of an app and can't seem to find it anywhere (VoP, yahoo,
SF). TBMR, it had a simple tkinter GUI chat interface and one communicated
to another user (users - like irc?) by entering their IP address(es). It
might have been a book sample or a technology demonstrator and not a
supported app.

Any help appreciated...
