Yes, mostly for access to the sources, the possibility of
redistribution and the various other freedoms associated with Open
Source/Free Software.

P.S. Of course it doesn't hurt to get stuff for free, but if that was
the most important thing, you'd surely be content to download
proprietary "free stuff", demos and evaluations (and be at the mercy
of the binary-only distributor in question).
