Zope with Apache on shared hosting account

I tried all sorts of ways to get this to work without root access on my 
old provider, to no avail.  I finally broke down and went with another, 
somewhat pricier provider that specializes in Zope+Apache and gives you 
root access in a FreeBSD jail (http://imeme.net if you're curious).
