Sorry, but I had to laugh, not at Alan, but at the combination of the
above.  With the offending word elided, you can read it as implying 
that "picking up Python" is overly "descriptive".  It took me a while 
to figure out what was really meant.

It was probably a high-school kid asking the question!  :-)  In any case,
would it make you feel better to know that the vast majority of people
who would be offended by that are the adults, not the kids who have
grown up hearing the phrase in every TV show and movie they've ever
watched?  ;-)
