Now, as the original poster, I had no idea what I was starting, ack!

What comes to mind is:
* a piece of metal about 3 inches wide
* with holes evenly spaced
* one side of each hole has an elevated edge
* apply cheese to the surface with the elevated edge and scraped along and
over the holes
Observe: each resulting strand of yummy string-like cheese, so alike, yet
all from different holes!
