menu & forms for ncurses

howdy folks...

does anyone know of the current status of menu and forms with ncurses in
python? the most recent info i found was this:

i have also found http://pyncurses.sf.net which claims to support forms
and menu. do you know of any reason why it is not included in the
official distribution (well, given the age of it, i can image it does
not meet the current interfaces/policy of python).
