I just bought the Python Cookbook, reily-Edited -Alex Martelli and David
Ascher.
 
It an excellant book with examples covering every possible aspect of
coding in python.

I have used it not just for examples but to learn python to, well to
learn pythons more subtle ways.

I recoment it highly.
