Quick Question

Hi,

I am new to python and am making a text based program with a user name and
password screen. for the password I want it to be blank when they type or
show an *.

at the moment the only method I know for geting user input is raw_input.
Could somebody please point me in the right direction for making a true
text based password field that doesn't show what the user types.

Any help would be great.
