Python Study Group

Hi all. I'm learning Python, and get stuck once in a while. I've come up
with an idea. I'd like to start an online Python Study Group with others
trying to learn Python as well. I emailed my ideas to someone else in the
same boat, so I'm just going to past that here.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I'm realy not that far along. I've been reading "How to Think Like a
Computer Scientist: Learning with Python." It's a free ebook. It's online
and you can also download it.
Here's the link: http://ibiblio.org/obp/thinkCS/python.php .

When you open that page you can click on the "English" link to see it
online, or download the pdf format

I just finished chapter 5. Browse through the book up to chapter 5 and let
me know if you've made it farther than me. I've looked every where for good
books and tutorials, and this is the best I've found by far. If you've found
one you're attached to let me know. I just want to be on the same page as
you, that's all.

Blah Blah Blah

OK, now to what I'd like to do. I'd like to meet in IRC a few times a week,
or at least once a week, to discuss what we're learning. I'd love to get
together and come up with a lesson plan of some sort. For example, decide on
a book or site that we're going to follow and pick a chapter to read, and
then the next time we get together we will have something discuss and help
each other with what ever it is that's stumping us. I think it would be cool
to use the stuff we're learning to make programs together. I know at first
they wont be the greatest programs, but first of all we've got to start
somewhere, and second of all if we stick with it we could come up with some
pretty cool stuff.

Thats a very ruff draft. I'd like to do this Open Source Style. I'd like any
feed back you can give.
