Embedding Python in Python

You probably want something like this:

globalDict = {}
exec(stringOfPythonCodeFromUser, globalDict)

globalDict is now the global namespace of whatever was in
stringOfPythonCodeFromUser, so you can grab values from that and
selectivly import them into your namespace.
