Yeah, that's because of the somewhat un-Pythonic behavior of the print
statement, which inserts spaces around the printed items, and a newline
at the end.

> 	print a,".",b,".",c,".",d	

Try  
        print "%d.%d.%d.%d." % (a, b, c, d)
