Has anyone gotten Pmw's BLT to work under Unix??

I've been looking all over for this solution, but I cannot find it.  I
cannot get even the simple demos for BLT to work.  At the first use of
any Pmw.Blt.* call, I get this error:

_tkinter.TclError: invalid command name "::blt::vector"

Is there some trick with the library location I need to be aware of?
