You can do this today with any Linux box and VNC. There's a good article
on how to set this up in The Linux Journal. It used to be available on-line
but it looks like it's been limited to subscribers only now.
I set this up and used it for a while but I'm now using a laptop (Mac
Powerbook) for my Python stuff. Just close the lid when you've finished
and open it up again to continue....
