Tnx, I did

    def nlst2(self, *args):
        cmd = 'LIST'
        for arg in args:
            cmd = cmd + (' ' + arg)
        files = []
        self.retrlines(cmd, files.append)
        return files

and now I just need to parse it. :)

Yes, unfortunately even "def retrlines" returns something uninteresting.
