With a modern GUI library, it's more like:

     buttonBox.addWidget(Button("&New", my, "new"))

and your button is added to the buttonbox. Anything that requires you
to specify the location exactly (whether in a WYSISOWYG GUI tool or
code) is fundamentally broken.
