Try PythonCard (http://pythoncard.sf.net). Like VB or Delphi (drag and drop widgets), but much simpler, easy and fun. It's based on wxWidgets, and it gives your apps a native look, no matter your platform (much nicer than Tkinter, which looks uglier and dated).
