access to xml_rpc server problem

Good question. I will check this out.

When I run the server on a machine with static IP,
I need to run the server with

SimpleXMLRPCServer.SimpleXMLRPCServer(("machine_domain.mycompany.com",
8000))
server.serve_forever()

then client can access the server with
server = xmlrpclib.Server('http:// machine_domain.mycompany.com:8000')

If the server uses "localhost" such as the following instead, then the
client still could not access the server:

SimpleXMLRPCServer.SimpleXMLRPCServer(("localhost", 8000))
server.serve_forever()

Maybe you have a firewall blocking access?
