generating objects of a type from a name.

I'm not sure what a visual object is, but to create an instance of an
object whose name is known, you can use "eval":

>>> oname = 'list'
>>> obj = eval(oname)()
>>> obj
[]
>>> type(obj)
<type 'list'>
