is it possible to write python scripts in mainframe like REXX ??

i am extremely new to this list
 can anybody tell me where can i find docs that are related to "sripting in
mainframe using python"
or
how can we use python instered of REXX in mainframe
how can i run python scripts in mainframe
any help will be appreciated.............
