gui toolkits: the real story? (Tkinter, PyGTK, etc.)

Yes. Also, Tk isn't a particularly fast-moving target compared to some
of the other toolkits, so it's possible to not spend too much time
maintaining the bindings for it, I imagine. Otherwise, Tkinter might
have fallen out of the standard library by now.
