I thought it was funny and eye catching.
I'm glad you remember Gadfly (http://gadfly.sourceforge.net).
Still distributed with many packages (including Zope, I think).
Still getting 5-20 downloads a day on sourceforge.
Not bad for a package released back in '94, eh?
