Problem building python in virtual machine running centos

Thanks for your answers. I did solve my problem.
I upgraded my glibc libraries and it seems to solve the problem.
I was able to build python-2.4.5 using gcc 4.1.2 (glibc-2.5-18.el5_1.1)
