INSTALLPATH=<wherever app is installed>
exec $INSTALLPATH/bin/python $APPNAME "$@"

Doesn't get much simpler than that. :)  You can certainly do the
equivalent in Python... there's not much difference.  Slightly less
typing in bourne/bash shell, I guess...
