web development in python 2.6 and 3.0

hi,

i am new to python but have programming experience in few other languages. 
i am trying to start with python 2.6 or 3.0. my requirement is accessing database (mysql and/or postgresql) and web development. 

what all i should install for my requirement?
to connect to database (mysql and/or postgresql)
for web development
