You'll have to do something else, for example:

>>> s = re.compile(r'(?:[a-zA-Z]:)')
>>> n = re.compile(r'[\\/]\w+')
>>> m = s.match('c:/tmp/spam/eggs')
>>> n.findall(m.string[m.end():])
['/tmp', '/spam', '/eggs']
