Perhaps, BUT...

If, say, you were to accept that Python is going to guard against a
small number of especially bad cases, this has got to be one of the
top candidates.

Potentially grave inefficiency (order of magnitude loss of
performance), and very likely to be misused.

(Course I think the right solution would have been a separate
concatenation operator, beyond hope now, though.)
