help req installing python 2.6

hi,
i am am facing problem in installing python 2.6 on ubuntu 9.04. When i sudo make i get following error :


Failed to find the necessary bits to build these modules:
_bsddb             _curses            _curses_panel   
_sqlite3           bsddb185           bz2             
dbm                gdbm               readline        
sunaudiodev                                           
To find the necessary bits, look in setup.py in detect_modules() for the module's name.

i have tried 
sanam at ubuntu:~/Desktop/Python-2.6.5$ sudo apt-get build-dep python2.5
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree       
Reading state information... Done
E: Build-dependencies for python2.5 could not be satisfied.

please help.
