Your problem would be solved as follows:
import plac
@plac.annotations(test=('a flag', 'flag', 't'))
def main(test, *ignore):
print test, ignore
if __name__ == '__main__':
plac.call(main, ["-t","--ignoreme_and_dont_fail"])
