I raise you one character:
ishex2 = lambda s: not(set(s)-set(string.hexdigits)) # Yours
ishex3 = lambda s: not set(s)-set(string.hexdigits) # Mine
I could actually go three better:
ishex3=lambda s:not set(s)-set(string.hexdigits)
